The heart of every shingle is a membrane which is made from fiber glass. The membrane is drenched in hot liquid asphalt, and after the saturant dries, the membrane will be impermeable. To make the membrane flexible, high quality asphalt coating is applied to both the top and bottom of the membrane, forming a protective barrier against harsh weather. With the coating still wet, colorful granules will be spread over the top surface, to give the shingles their color and make them resistant to the sun's ultraviolet rays. A cellophane strip and powdered stone is applied to the back surface to prevent sticking in the package.

 

Production machine stacks the hexagonal shingles for packaging, 22 sheets to a bundle, and it is enough to cover three square meters of a roof.
